Usually low priced smartphones are not considered as a viable threat against the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S4, however it seems Xiaomi is here to change that, recently they announced another version of their existing Xiaomi which packs a Snapdragon 600 chipset as opposed to the S4 Pro in the alternative version. The quad –core Krait 300 CPU in this new version is clocked to an impressive 1.7 GHz which logically is still slower than Samsung Galaxy S3’s 1.9 GHz Krait 300 CPU. But surprisingly that’s not the case, not only it beats the Samsung Galaxy S4, it does it by quite a big margin! This is impressive to say the least. It scored an astounding 25,913 on AnTuTu benchmark beating the much higher clocked Samsung Galaxy S4 with ease.
The Xiaomi MI-S2 will be available in two models, a 16 gigabyte model with an 8 megapixel camera priced at $322 and a 32 gigabyte model with a 13 megapixel camera priced at $370. This is much lower than the Samsung Galaxy S4 or any other major flagship right now. Other specifications such as the 4.3 inch 720p display, 2 gigabytes of RAM and 2000mAh are the same on both versions. As for the operating system, unlike most smartphones the Xiaomi MI-S2 runs on MIUI custom Android Rom which may explain why it was able to surpass the Samsung Galaxy S4 despite being under clocked. Regardless the new Xiaomi MI-S2 is shaping up to be an awesome device that provides amazing performance at a reasonable price for the Chinese market.

As great as the spec sheet looks, the LG Optimus G Pro still has a very tough road ahead, especially with the likes of Samsung Galaxy S4, Sony Xperia Z and HTC One standing in its way. However LG seems to be marketing their new device very well which has lead to them to achieving this impressive milestone, what LG did was offer a demo of sorts to its potential customers by allowing them to try out the device for a period of 30 days ! Now this strategy does two things, firstly it lets the customer to get used to the bigger size and new interface, and secondly it allows them to develop a fondness towards the phone which naturally leads the customers to actually buying the phone at the end of the trial.
The New LG Optimus G Pro is not yet available worldwide, but LG promises that they will soon have enough units to meet the global demand.

During Thursday’s official Samsung Galaxy S4 announcement in New York, Samsung Mobile chief JK Shin revealed some hints about the release date but cleverly avoided all the questions related to the upcoming flagships pricing. However it seems that Samsung intentionally leaked them on their official website in terms and condition of an ongoing giveaway. According to the leak The Samsung Galaxy S4’s approximate retail value (tax free) is $579. Even though the leaked price is without any kind of taxes it still gives us a rough idea about the eventual pricing and even with the tax added it probably won’t surpass iPhone 5’s $649 price tag, making it a great alternative for smartphone lovers all over the world. But keep in mind that the price is yet to be released officially so the final pricing may differ from the leaked one.
Recently Samsung’s Galaxy S3 sold an amazing 50 million units worldwide, with such a big mountain to climb Samsung’s new flagship the Galaxy S4 was under a lot of pressure. But it seems that it may just surpass its predecessor after all, apparently the number of customer that registered their interest in the new flagship is an impressive 40% higher than the number of those who showed in interest in the Galaxy S3 in the first 48 hours. He also suggests the Galaxy S4 might turn the “biggest selling smartphone of 2013″. Keep in mind that that Samsung’s Galaxy S3 already broke sales records last year, so judging by the increased interest in the Samsung Galaxy S4 it can assumed that it may just surpass its predecessor in global sales number as well. The Samsung Galaxy S4 is planned to be released in late April, but no official date has been confirmed yet.
