A few days earlier than expected, HTC has begun the release operations of the expected update to Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich for the One X .
The new software version is the v.2.17.401.2 and introduces several improvements: the main signal a more fluid and powerful Web browser; the improvement of some features of the camera (white balance and autofocus); a more stable system; and the Beats Audio update.
Among the new upgrades, there is also the HTC Sense version 4.1 interface, introducing, among other things, the ability to map the recent key applications, eliminating the annoying “menu button with three dots” applications.
For users who have not received notifications of the update’s availability, you can do it manually. Just go to Settings > Information > Software Updates.
We have already dubbed 2012 as the year of the quad-core smartphone: different manufacturers, in fact, have decided to opt for this solution as regards the range top of the range of devices.
HTC and LG have decided to focus on the NVIDIA Tegra processor 3 , characterized by a 4-core CPU (plus a fifth with power saving features), capable of ensuring performance well above the average, especially in the gaming industry. The only flaw, a tendency to warm up a bit too much when put to the test.
Completely different, the choices of the two producers as regards the aspect of design and construction of the respective terminals: if the HTC One X has a unibody polycarbonate shell, strong and very pleasant to touch and look, the LG Optimus 4X HD proposes a form factor already seen.
The most careful design of the HTC One X has the downside of the lack of support for MicroSD and ‘the inability to remove the battery.
Both devices are among the main strengths of the 4.7-inch display with HD resolution. The LG Optimus 4X HD, however, has proved to be much brighter and, at the same time, more expensive as regards the appearance of autonomy.
And we want to dedicate the last chapter battery sign. The greater capacity of one mounted in the LG Optimus 4X HD (2150 mAh against 1800 mAh capacity than it has the HTC One X) does not match an equally greater autonomy. On the contrary, the HTC One X ensures the best results. An update of software that optimizes resource management could change the situation.
Available on Google Play is the new Android 4.1 Jelly Bean keyboard, and it is ready to be installed on all devices based Ice Cream Sandwich.
The application to be installed is called Jelly Bean Keyboard and allows you to try out another of the features introduced since the last release of Google’s mobile OS.
Although still in beta, the Jelly Bean Keyboard works pretty well. We installed it on our HTC One X and found no problems or whatsoever. So much that in a few hours, it became our keyboard reference.
And the thousands of downloads that porting this keyboard Jelly Bean scored in such a short time, once again confirmed the great interest that Android 4.1 has managed to create among the users.
The Jelly Bean Keyboard can be downloaded from Google Play. If you are interested, you have to hurry. Soon, the application will be removed from the store waiting for the full release.
The battle of the quad-core smartphone is designed to ignite. In fact, the LG Optimus 4X HD has already arrived in Europe.
LG announces the imminent arrival of the Optimus 4X HD— its new flagship Android smartphone—in eleven European markets. Among the countries that will first welcome the device are Italy, Germany, United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Sweden.
Presented last February at the Mobile World Congress 2012, the LG Optimus 4X HD is animated by a quad-core 1.5 GHz NVIDIA Tegra-based platform 3 and can rely on the combination of Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich and the new user interface is the Optimus UI 3.0.
Among the other features of the LG Optimus 4X HD are LCD True HD IPS 4.7-inch with 1280 x 720 pixels, an 8 megapixel camera, a thickness of 8.9 mm and a 2,150 mAh battery.
A smartphone that is to align the top range of other manufacturers like HTC One X and Samsung Galaxy S III. Compared to the two direct competitors, however, the LG Optimus 4X HD should have from it, a more competitive price.

So, what are you waiting for? Get it while you can!
A related patent battle has resulted in serious delays in deliveries from the HTC smartphones in the U.S.. Customs cargo hold the models HTC One X and HTC Evo 4G LTE indefinitely, following a lawsuit from Apple.
As reported by the specialized site, The Verge, they have confirmed that indeed, several shipments of such phones models had been held before entering the country. The HTC One X, in particular, is sold in the AT & T online shop, as well as many physical stores.
Apple had already succeeded in December a resolution of the International Trade Commission U.S. against the import of HTC devices with Android operating system, due to a lawsuit regarding patent # 5,946,647 of the company on the block, which covers the automatic conversion of phone numbers and e-mail links that open menus of options.
The decision meant that HTC, which had tried unsuccessfully to strike back at Apple with a lawsuit based on Android patents, could not continue selling phones in the U.S. that violated the patent as of April 19, 2012. The Taiwanese company now faces an investigation by the U.S. Customs Service, which is determining whether those features have been removed from these devices.
The HTC One X comes and goes hard to compete directly with the most advanced mobile market: the also newly launched Samsung Galaxy S III and even the iPhone 4s.
The first thing that is noticeably striking on the phone is its 4.7-inch screen that offers a HD resolution (720 ps), which is also noted for its clarity. It can be viewed from any angle without any problem. The device has the latest Android operating system: Android 4.0 Ice Sandwich.
All this is powered by dual core processor of 1.5 Ghz. In total, there is 32 GBs built.
The HTC X One has a camera of 8 megapixel recording High Definition (1080p). The transition between camera and recording is fast. The user only needs to press the corresponding button on the screen and instantly take a picture or start recording. The user can also take photos while recording. The camera is extremely fast when taking snapshots, which can later tweak easily from the gallery (cutting and adding filters). The front camera is 1.3 megapixels, a more than acceptable quality for video calls.
