Kyocera Rise Comes to Sprint for 16 Euros

 

Kyocera has announced that its Android 4.0 smartphone, the Rise, will be pitching for the Sprint network at a price equivalent to about 16 euros or renewal of a monthly contract.

Kyocera is positioning the terminal as an entry-level option for those who first buy a smartphone, as well as for parents looking to buy a phone with Android 4.0 for their teenagers.

The terminal has a capacitive touch screen of 3.5 inches with a resolution of 480 × 320 HVGA. It has a swype keyboard that comes preloaded on the device, allowing users to enter text by dragging a finger between letters. Its 1500 mAh battery provides over 8.5 hours of talk time.

The Kyocera Rise works with Android 4.0 and allows connection to the Play store for Google. It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8655 processor at 1GHz, a 3.2 megapixel camera with LED flash and video recording at 30 fps, and microSD card slot up to 32 GB.

Its QWERTY keyboard provides a comfortable typing experience fewer errors due to the wide separation between the keys. The screen, although modest, provides wide viewing angles due to its IPS technology and a decent brightness.

 

 

Huawei Launches Android 4.0 for Emotion UI ICS

 

Huawei has started to talk about the new Emotion user interface last May and, finally, the UI is ready for prime time, although currently limited. The company has in fact, put online on the official website (in Chinese) the download link of Emotion, that is directed only to Chinese users. However, it will soon be extended to the entire public.

The new interface works on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. And in particular, the currently supported smartphones are Huawei Honor, Huawei Ascend P1 and Huawei Ascend P1E. It is expected that, most likely, even the flagship Ascend D Quad is included after the launch, which was postponed to autumn.

The Emotion UI is described by Huawei as powerful and easy to use and. The features introduced include voice assistant (only in Chinese), unique home screen that is customizable and enhanced by animations, access to the Huawei cloud service, customizable Chinese characters, Smart finder, and a comprehensive system of care that would help users to begin entry-level.

Samsung Releases a Low-End Smartphone, The Samsung GT-B5330

 

Samsung plans to offer devices running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, covering the whole spectrum of possible prices. After the the high-end Samsung Galaxy S III, the Korean manufacturer has also revealed the existence of the low-end Samsung GT-B5330. As revealed by GLBenchmarks, the terminal will almost certainly have Android 4.0.4 installed out of the box.

The reference site also reveals that the phone will be equipped, at the hardware level, a processor clocked at 850MHz.

Other specifications were revealed during the certification process that took place in China, through which the a QVGA resolution screen of unknown size, 3G connectivity and a QWERTY physical keyboard that resembles the style of BlackBerry smartphones was discovered.

It is not yet clear on which markets will release the Samsung GT-B5330, and at this time, there is still no word on the price and the official launch date. The price, in any case, will be very low.
